Gear up for Toronto Comicon and Anime North in a chill space for queer nerds on Saturday, March 1, from 1 to 4pm at The 519.
Leeland Mitchell — who’s work you’ve seen on Canada’s Drag Race, CP24, CTV, and more — will be on-site to help people with their costumes for the spring convention season. We’ll also have tabletop gaming run by Changeling Gaming, featuring donations from local game store 401 Games, superhero Saturday morning cartoons, and art for sale by Lindsay Collins (aka @Linzb0t)
Attendance is a mix of drop-in, and RSVP:
- If you want to play games, shop and watch toons, just drop in.
- If you want cosplay help from Leeland, you need to RSVP in advance
ATTENTION: If you RSVP for a cosplay help appointment, you’ll get an email before the event telling you your appointment time. People’s actual time needs may vary, so even if the appointments fill up, email Aeryn at apfaff@the519.org to see if you can still try to be seen by Leeland.
Leeland Mitchell is a Chinese/Scottish, Toronto born costume designer specializing in custom made costumes, drag queen outfits and cosplay. His work has been featured on Avril Lavigne, Lu Kala, Cp24, Canadas Drag Race and many more local drag talents!
Changeling Gaming is a collective of gaming experts who host events, both public and private, around Toronto & GTA, in addition to create content for YouTube. Their mission is to help folks find the right games for their tables and to create safe, accessible, and welcoming spaces to play games and make new friends along the way.
We’ll have sewing machines set up and light refreshments.
