The 519 stands in support and solidarity with Black Lives Matter-Toronto Coalition and in opposition to police violence and racial injustice.

As LGBTQ people, we must recognize the interconnectedness of racism coupled with systems of oppression that impact people based on gender identity, sexual orientation, class, age, and ability.

We need to understand that allyship and social justice is an ongoing process of reflection, learning and action. We are committed to addressing anti-black racism within our own work and within broader LGBTQ communities because we believe that ‪#‎blacklivesmatter‬.
