In solidarity with Iran

The 519 is firmly in solidarity with protestors in Iran grieving the loss of Mahsa Amini and fighting for the most fundamental of human rights. Our thoughts are with our community members, staff, New to Canada clients, and broader Iranian diaspora. We join in condemning this horrific act of state violence and the killing of numerous protestors in the days that have followed.

Following the sentencing of two Iranian LGTBQ+ activists to death earlier this month, and decades of systematic oppression of women and LGTBQ+ communities, we mourn this senseless loss of life and join in the calls for justice and true accountability.
