Program Types: Health Services,

What is the Health Justice Program?

The Health Justice Program provides supports for community members at the intersections of legal and health systems. Our blended health and legal services provide an opportunity to identify systemic barriers for the 2SLGBTQ+ community in the health and legal fields using a social determinants of health lens. The programming also provides opportunities for education and collective action to increase accountability mechanisms within institutions and systems, and avenues for reform to improve 2SLGBTQ+ community wellbeing.

Health Justice peers reflect the diversity in culture, race and language of Toronto’s equity-deserving groups and facilitate extensive and targeted outreach to individuals and communities to support access to broader public health supports and interventions that contemplate access needs based upon factors such as age, language, socio-economic status, housing access, gender and sexual orientation, race, and education.
