Trans Day of Remembrance (TDOR)

The 519 commemorates the 25th anniversary of the Trans Day of Remembrance (TDoR). Join us to honour the lives of the 2 Spirit, trans, and non-binary siblings we have lost to transphobia, hate crimes, illness, substance use, suicide, misogyny, institutional and legislative violence, and murder.

Our 2024 theme “Grieving the Past to Protect our Future” speaks about the profound grief that marks our collective past. In grieving together, we draw community strength and comfort. In acknowledging the hardships, losses, and resilience of 2 Spirit, trans, and non-binary people who came before us, our commitment to fight for a safer world and collective future is renewed. Our collective grief is not just a remembrance; it is a call to action.

We remember our lost friends, neighbours, colleagues, family, lovers, and comrades.  In our grief, in our rage, in our organizing, and in our remembering and honouring, we inspire change, solidarity, safety, hope and joy for the lives and rights of all 2 Spirit, trans, non-binary, and gender-diverse people.
