Join Toronto Fire Services (TFS) at The 519 for an information session for LGBTQ+ people who are new to Canada.

Come learn about career opportunities within the TFS. Opportunities include Operations Firefighter, Heavy Truck Mechanic, Call Dispatch, and Fire Prevention Inspector.

To attend you must:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada for forty-two (42) hours per week
  • No criminal record, or granted a pardon under the Criminal Records Act
  • Mechanically inclined and interested in working with tools, equipment, and machinery
  • Physically and mentally capable of performing the required duties which include lifting, and periods of extended physical exertion
  • Interested in roles in either customer service or enforcement

There will be three sessions:

February 26: A general session with Toronto Fire Services about all their available jobs.
March 3: A session focussed on being an Operations Firefighter, or a Heavy Truck Mechanic.
March 5: A session focussed on being a Fire Prevention Inspector, or a Call Taker/Dispatcher.
