Digital Storytelling Residency & Film Screening
The 519 and The Re•Vision Centre for Art and Social Justice invite older 2SQTBIPOC (Two-Spirit, Queer, Trans, Black, Indigenous, People of Colour) adults to join in a Digital Storytelling Residency. This program offers a chance to explore identity, culture, history and justice through storytelling, while developing creative, technical and mentoring skills.
Program Overview:
This residency includes workshops where participants will create their own short films. Each artist will write a personal script and turn it into a digital story that reflects their life experiences, using themes like identity and justice.
What you’ll learn:
- How to use digital storytelling for research and community action.
- Ways to use art to encourage conversation, policy change and personal growth.
- How to create your own digital story.
What is included?
- Curriculum to introduce the workshop’s purpose.
- Support from facilitators and mentorship.
- Access to 15 MacBook Pro computers with editing software and technical support.
- Professional photographers and filmmakers documenting the process.
- A private online album of your digital stories, with all the rights belonging to you.
