The 519 launches new Firefly Pub – Just in time for St. Patrick’s Day

The 519 announced today that it is launching a new occasional pub series with the inaugural event to be hosted on St. Patrick’s Day.

“We wanted to create even more opportunities for our communities to get together, to celebrate in safe, welcoming and inclusive spaces, while also raising vital funds in support of our programs and services,” says John R. Farrell, Director of Philanthropy. “St. Patrick’s Day – the luckiest of days – is the perfect day to kick off the series.”

On March 17 from 4 to 11 pm, The 519 Grand Ballroom will transform into a decidedly queer Irish pub complete with pub-appropriate décor and food, a whiskey bar and giveaways. Live entertainment will be provided by Irish band Ugly Horse, fiddler Sammy V, and Ticky Ty

Tickets for the event are $20 in advance, and available for purchase online. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door.

“We are tremendously excited about the idea of creating a fun and inclusive event for all our communities,” says Wesley Watson who, along with Tess Rehemtula, is Co-Chair of the event, and a member of The 519’s Board of Management.

Generous sponsors for the event include Delta Air Lines, Molson Canadian, Heineken, Jack Daniels, Collingwood Canadian Whiskey, and Pelee Island Wines.

Partnership support is provided by Pride At Work Canada, Out on Bay Street and Pride Toronto.
