The 519 and Pride Toronto join forces to present TreeHouse Party on July 3

Green Space Festival’s legendary TreeHouse Party to be produced by Pride Toronto; tickets go on sale today

TORONTO, ON, APRIL 4, 2016 | The 519 and Pride Toronto announced today they will join forces to co-present TreeHouse Party, the internationally-renowned outdoor party at Ryerson University that has been the closing event of The 519’s Green Space Festival during Toronto Pride celebrations for the past eight years.

The new partnership promises to make the highly-anticipated, outdoor event even better as many world renowned DJs are set to perform for thousands of festivalgoers. TreeHouse Party is one of the most prominent Pride events in North America and its proceeds are invested back in to community programs.

The DJs performing at the TreeHouse Party on Sunday, July 3 are London real-life and musical partners Sexshooters, Tel Aviv’s mix master Yinon Yahel, Montreal’s enfant terrible Alain Jackinsky and Mexico’s most precious talent and long-time Green Space Festival supporter, Isaac Escalante. 

The 519 and Pride Toronto’s TreeHouse Party collaboration is an extension of the organizations’ close partnership in 2015, when they co-hosted Starry Night for the first time. Both organizations will once again co-present Starry Night, an elegant outdoor celebration that will kick-off the last weekend of pride festivities on Thursday, June 30 at Barbara Hall Park in Toronto’s Church-Wellesley Village. Special guest headliners and artists for Starry Night will be announced soon.

All proceeds collected through TreeHouse Party, Starry Night and Green Space Festival’s other popular celebrations – One World, Lipstick Jungle and Disco Disco – will be returned to the community by funding The 519’s vital, year-round programs and services. The 519’s Green Space Festival is presented by TD Bank Group.

“It’s a natural fit for The 519 to partner with Pride Toronto to present two truly spectacular events that will entertain thousands and bolster Starry Night and TreeHouse Party as two of the best Pride events anywhere in North America,” said Jacob Porpossian, Chair of The 519 Board of Management and Chair of Green Space Festival. “What’s even more spectacular than the music, laughter and fun is the tens of thousands of dollars Starry Night, TreeHouse Party and Green Space Festival is expected to raise over the four-day period, money that will help The 519 make a difference in peoples’ lives the entire year.”

For the first time, Pride Toronto will produce Saturday and Sunday’s events at the Ryerson Quad. Saturday will offer a special screening to commemorate the 25^th anniversary of the documentary, “In Bed With Madonna”.

“Pride is here to support our communities and we're able to extend our footprint in a meaningful way by partnering with The 519. That's why all the proceeds from the beverage sales will go back to our incredible community centre,” said Aaron GlynWilliams, Pride Toronto Board of Directors Co-Chair. “We're so proud to partner with such an incredible group of people, and more importantly, to raise money for The 519 and the communities it serves.”
