Youth Action and Arts Space 2017

Our Youth Action and Arts Space offers fun, friends and cool opportunities for a few hours two Saturdays per month. An exciting program is available for both 6-9 year olds & 10-15 year olds.

6-9 years old

every first & third Saturday of the month

10:00am – 12:00pm

10-15 years old

every first & third Saturday of the month
1:00pm – 3:00pm

The 519 is collaborating with community-based arts educators to facilitate a program of arts-based activities with queer, trans, and gender independent kids and the kids of queer and trans families. The space will celebrate LGBTQ diversity, welcome complexity, and strive to create a safe and celebratory space. Opportunities will promote confidence, amplify youth voice, be focused on fun, and will create space for young people to connect and become empowered through self-advocacy. The space is free, accessible, and youth driven.

The goal is to offer a variety of arts-based programming for young people between the ages of 6-15 in a safe and affirming environment that is free and accessible to the community. This youth empowered space will thrive through 17 fabulous Saturdays full of amazing arts-based programming with Soulpepper Theatre Company, Small Print Toronto, and CANVAS just to name a few – there will be photography, improv, spoken word and more!

The 519’s Youth Arts and Action Space 2017 will build on the successful program in 2016 and on the suggestions from the amazing youth who made the space what it is!
