Firefly Pub returns for another decidedly queer take on St. Patrick’s Day

The 519 announced today that Firefly Pub – an occasional pub series launched last year to great success – will return on March 17 for another decidedly queer take on St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.

“We were heartened by the overwhelming support of our communities for our first Firefly Pub,” says John R. Farrell, Director of Philanthropy, noting that the inaugural Firefly Pub attracted over 450 community members and helped raise over $20,000 in support of The 519’s year-round programs. “And we are thrilled to invite our communities back for another night of fun, community and good cheer, all in support of The 519.”

On March 17 between 4 pm and 11 pm, The 519’s Grand Ballroom will be transformed into a decidedly queer Irish pub complete with pub-appropriate décor and food, a whiskey bar, a games room and a live and silent auction. Entertainment will be provided by Irish band Ugly Horse, DJ Ticky Ty and other fabulous surprises.
