Student Placements

The 519 welcomes the contributions of students who, as a required part of an academic program, support The 519 staff to deliver innovative, high-quality programs and services to diverse 2SLGBTQ+ communities. 

The 519 provides structured and supportive opportunities for students to acquire skills and practical experience in their chosen field of study.  We offer a broad range of student placement opportunities. 

Student Eligibility requirements:

  • The student must be enrolled in a post-secondary or bridging program that requires them to complete a certain number of hours in their field of study as a prerequisite for graduate.
  • The student’s academic institution must be registered and in good standing with the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities or their appropriate regional governing body.

Good to know

Generally, student placements are unpaid, if a paid student internship is available, it will be posted amidst the opportunities listed.

Students are welcome to apply for a specific student placement opportunity – when available these roles are posted below. If no specific opportunities are available, no posts will appear.

You are also welcome to apply for a general student placement opportunity via the completion of the Student Placement Intake Form.

How to Apply?

Allow 10-20 minutes to complete the Student Placement Intake Form; you will be prompted to attach your resume and cover letter with your form.
