The Marginalized Majority is a Canadian-registered non-profit dedicated to advancing education, creating cultural programming, and fostering community connections for marginalized 2SLGBTQIA+ collectives, organizations, and allies. We develop and implement in-person and virtual programs supporting community healing and growth, addressing issues affecting marginalized individuals with intersectional identities, including new immigrants, BIPOC communities, folks with disabilities, Two-Spirit, Trans, and Non-Binary individuals. Our programming covers subjects such as intergenerational trauma, internalized homophobia, femmephobia, fatphobia, trauma-informed healing, language barriers, and systemic issues like racism, ageism, colorism, and ableism within and outside queer culture. Our offerings include Community Gatherings, Psychosocial Support, Intersectional Educational Programs, Capacity Building, Anti-Oppression Awareness Training, and our Global South Knowledge Production House. We focus on professional growth, business and leadership, employment, personal development, embodied safety, community building, and combating isolation through trauma-informed conversations, meet-ups, somatic-movement programs, and mental and emotional support.
The Marginalized Majority is a recognized trainer in Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging, tailoring our programs to address these issues with accessible resources and practical solutions for 2SLGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities.
We proudly collaborate with The 519, hosting an inclusive, multicultural lounge space every Friday from 6:30 PM to 8pm in Room 301. This partnership enriches our community with activities like yoga, painting, games, and photography while fostering meaningful conversations and peer support groups.
Our organization was built through extensive community consultations, focusing on decolonial and gender-sensitive practices, addressing the needs of BIPOC and Indigenous communities.
