Housing For All

Safe and affordable housing is a basic human right. There is an urgent need for supportive and affordable housing, adequate social support and livable wages, and access to trauma-informed mental health and addiction supports.

Toronto has a real housing crisis which cannot be solved through the violent displacement of people experiencing homelessness. The encampment evictions at Trinity Bellwoods Park, Alexandra Park, and Lamport Stadium Park, and the violence enacted upon encampment residents and their supporters is unconscionable.

The 519 is mobilizing counselling and legal supports for encampment residents and their supporters who have been impacted by the violence and arrests that occurred over the past two days.

  • If you need counselling support, please email Reenita at RVerma@The519.org.
  • If you are in need of legal support, please email The 519 Legal Clinic at LegalClinic@The519.org.
  • If you don’t have reliable access to email, please call our Front Desk at 416-392-6874, and we will work to connect you to someone by phone.
