Matching Gift Opportunity – Doubling the Impact of Your Gift to The 519

The 519 is thrilled to announce that a community member has stepped forward with an offer to match all donations received in support of The 519’s recent community appeal.

Gifts received on or after September 17, 2015 and up to December 31, 2015 will be matched dollar-for-dollar.

“This is an amazingly generous offer and a tremendous way for community members to effectively double their support to The 519 this year,” said Maura Lawless, The 519's Executive Director.

The Matching Gift opportunity has been extended by a long time friend and donor in response to The 519's recent community appeal, and in recognization of the importance of protecting our vital programs and services. The Matching Gift donor has asked that their contribution remain anonymous.

“We are enormously grateful that the community response to date has been so generous and so kind,” says John Farrell, Director of Development, noting that beyond making their own personal gifts, many community members have encouraged others to give as well, offered to donate time and/or services in support of The 519, or have organized third-party fundraising events with proceeds going back to The 519.

“Our goal of protecting the programs and services that are so vital to our LGBTQ communities is well in hand, but we do have a ways to go.”

Community members wishing to double the impact of their gift to The 519 this year may do so online, by mailing a cheque to The 519, or by visiting The 519 and making a donation in person.
