Public Statement on Trans Day of Remembrance (TDoR) 2022

Statement Denouncing Resolution R4

The 519 vehemently and loudly denounces resolution R4. A fundamental attack on the rights and freedoms of queer and trans people, this proposed resolution will enshrine transphobia into PC party’s official policy and legislative priorities by stating that gender identity “is not real” and that the PC government will remove the teaching and promotion of “gender identity theory” from schools and its curriculum. The 519 will stand up to any political party or government when it comes to the rights of queer and trans people.

We want young people to know that we see you, that we will fight to protect your right to self-define and self-determine and that we have your back.

We ask our communities to be vocal, share this information, advocate against this resolution, have conversations, stay in touch with us about planned actions and we will do the same.
