Project Unlock

Project Unlock, is an exciting collaboration between The 519 and Scotiabank that is specifically designed to support LGBTQ+ newcomers to Canada to overcome barriers to employment in Canada.  Promoting overall wellness, the project creates a holistic pathway to meaningful employment.

There is evidence that under/unemployment can have a significant negative impact on the overall well-being of queer and trans newcomers. Despite being skilled, a significant number of newcomers encounter formidable barriers to employment, impacting their health and challenging their settlement and integration.
