Stories Worth Telling

Earlier this year, our 2SLGBTQ+ Older Adults program organized a speaker’s day for some of their participants to tell their stories.

In a new video series by the 2SLGBTQ+ Older Adults Program, participants including Fontaine and Juwanna DeWitt tell life stories, like what it was like to do drag at the legendary St. Charles Tavern.

They also discuss dealing with homophobia, recovery, and being your most authentic self.

Moji, one of the coordinators of our older adults programs, was inspired to organize this project after spending years talking to Alf, a man in a long-term care home who shared his life story with him. After Alf passed away, Moji wanted to create more opportunities to share the stories of 2SLGBTQ+ elders.
