Donation Drive for LGBTQ+ Refugees and Newcomers

Help us distribute 1,200 welcome kits!

Since the start of 2023, The 519 has served over 8,000 LGBTQ+ refugees, with even more still awaiting support. To answer the need, the entire team at The 519 is coming together for a day in February to connect with 1,200 LGBTQ+ refugee claimants currently on our waitlist to immediate support.

Help us welcome them with supports that enable them to get their start in Canada with safety, warmth and dignity.

We want to distribute 1,200 welcome kits for our newest neighbours full of essential personal care items. To do this, we’re asking our supporters to help fill these kits by donating items we get asked for the most.

Can we count on you?

We invite donations of new essential supplies. You can choose to do so in the following ways:

1. Purchase items directly through our Amazon wishlist 

2. Drop items off in person at The 519. 

3. Donate cash in person or online via the form bellow, we will purchase items on your behalf!

Drop-off times:

    • Weekdays: 9am to 8pm
    • Weekends: 10am to 4pm

We are accepting donations until February 12 at noon.

  • Diapers (all sizes are welcome, with an emphasis on toddler sizes)
  • Disposable menstrual hygiene products (tampons and pads)
  • Toothpaste
  • Toothbrushes
  • Soap/Body Wash
  • Body Lotion
  • Toques
  • Gloves
  • Lip Balm
  • Shaving Cream
  • Razors
  • Deodorant
  • Shampoo and Conditioner
