With over six years of experience overseeing, coordinating, and curating community-engaged initiatives focused on supporting the visibility of Black, Indigenous, and racialized queer and trans artists, Emkay is deeply committed to justice-centered frameworks and transformative practices. In their role as both a researcher and arts manager, they have actively pursued the excavation of histories that are often marginalized or erased, particularly within communities whose voices are frequently overlooked.
In addition to their core work, Emkay is deeply interested in cultural storytelling, research, and arts administration and management. They are dedicated to integrating these passions into their efforts to support artistic methodologies and cultural narratives.
